RECORDING SECRETARY The Board Records Department of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller - Sarasota, Florida, is currently seeking a Recording Secretary. This Recording Secretary performs a variety of duties to include the preparation of agendas and supporting documentation, and attending, recording, and transcribing minutes for the Board of County Commissioners, Planning Commission, Charter Review Board, Value Adjustment Board, and Code Enforcement and Utility Rate hearings. The Recording Secretary accurately processes, files and indexes documents to allow for efficient archiving and retrieval of information, performs a range of clerical duties for the Board Records Department and is responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. The Recording Secretary must be able to multi-task and work overtime, and occasional evenings, as necessary, to attend meetings, process time-sensitive documentation and meet set deadlines. Qualified applicants will have a High School diploma, or GED, with a minimum of 2 yrs of experience as a Recording Secretary to a professional, or elected Board, or 3 years of secretarial experience in a professional office setting with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook) & extensive & demonstrated knowledge of proper English composition, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
